Inception:  

At the very early stage of your project, even before any design work has commenced, we can advise on the likely cost of construction for your project, together with the associated risks and how the risks can be removed or mitigated.

Design: 

As the design of your project evolves, it is essential to ensure the project remains within budget.

At the commencement of design, we prepare a document referred to as a "Cost Plan".  

The Cost Plan is a document that "breaks" the project down into elements for example Doors & Windows, each element is budgeted and design is constantly reviewed against budget. 

The "Cost Control" commences at the beginning of Schematic Design, and continues throughout the Design Development and Construction Documentation stages. 

Cost Plans are updated at agreed periodic intervals and issued to the Project Owner for review, comment and action.  There are industry recognised formats for Cost Plans such as those of the RICS or CIQS, our Costs Plans will be prepared in a format that best suits your project.

Procurement: 

Every project is different, and each has its own specifics such as:

• Quality of Finished Product

• Timing/Phasing
• Island Location

We advise on the procurement process or "Contractual Arrangement" that is best for your project, this could include:

• Management Contracting
• Design & Build
• Lump Sum Contracts
• Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP)

We have experience on all procurement routes and will advise on the best arrangement for your project.

Tender Process:

We will prepare the Tender Documentation and mange the Tender Process, dependent upon each project this may include preparing:

• Preliminaries/General Conditions
• Bills of Quantities
• Schedule of Works
• Schedule of Rates
• Form of Tender
• Tender Sum Analyses
• Form of Contract

Following receipt of Tenders, we will negotiate a Contract Sum with the Contractor and prepare a detailed Report on Tenders received inclusive of our recommendation on the way forward.

Contract:

Upon selection of the preferred Contractor or Contractors, we will prepare the Construction Contract Documentation.

The Contract could be a bespoke contract drafted specifically for your project, or it could be an industry recognised form of contract which we would complete on behalf of the Project Owner.

We are experienced in recognised and accepted standard forms of contract such as AIA/JCT/FIDIC. 

We offer the following services during the following the completion of Construction:

• Settling/Agreeing Final Cost with Contractors
• Settling/Agreeing Claims with Contractors
• Stand Back/Review Report on the project

We offer a Project Management Service and tailor the service to suit the specific project.

We also partner with Blufield a Project & Development Management Company providing Global and Caribbean Expertise.    

 We can provide costs to re-build or renovate following man - made or natural disasters. 

In particular property in the Caribbean Region is prone to damage from Hurricanes.

We have recent experience following:

We provide costs to re - build property and negotiate on behalf of the Owner with the Insurance Company a settlement cost.

We can also Project Manage the re-building of your your property following a disaster.

We have experience in preparing Expert Witness Reports on Quantum issues relating to Construction Contract.

In addition to drafting Reports we have the experience of appearing as Expert Witnesses at hearings.
